Got a question?

I have a question for you, how do I get windows ce for my dreamcast, and what does it do to improve gamming? Also will the new browser have java so we can access certain web sites?

Reply from Webmaster:
The Dreamcast is running on a modified Windows CE program. Dreamcast comes with a operating system, a modified version of Windows CE. Windows CE makes it easier for the developers to make the games. Giving developers more time to concetrate on certain things like better graphics, gameplay, and so on. The Dreamcast Browser 1.0 and 1.1 already comes with Java. The Java in 1.0 is a little bit messed up, and you can't access all the websites, including The Sega Network. 1.1 gives better Java to go to more sites. 2.0 which will ship with Dreamcast systems from May.
It will come with upgraded Java from 1.1, Flash, and much more. So, now you can visit every single site on the net (except for adult sites because it comes with a Parent control, which I would consider is a good move by Sega).

My 2 friends and I have a custom team with 3 custom players that we use in seasons, the glitch is that once we quit for the first time, usually after the 2nd game, and shut down for the night, the next time we play, all of our created guys revert to the basic guy, they look exactly the same as the generic guy, and they suddenly can't tackle anyone, as though their stats reverted just like their bodies. I have tried 2 different vmu's but to the same effect. Do you have any suggestions?

Reply from Sega Support:
Thanks for your e-mail! Resetting the system often solves weird random
errors, but you will have to re-enter your internet settings. Here is the
reset procedure:

• Power off the Dreamcast system.
• Place the Dreamcast browser disc in the Dreamcast.
• When the power is off, plug the controller into 'port B' of the Dreamcast.
• Hold down the X and B buttons on the controller and turn the Dreamcast on.
• Continue holding the buttons until you see a white screen with a keyboard in
the background.
• Turn off the system and try your games now.

Please feel free to write back with any questions or comments you might have.

Thanks, Akira

Hello,
Around 3 months ago I bought a Dreamcast with a VMU. I have yet to find the way it works. I understand how to save on it like a normal memory card, but I want to know how to choose the plays with it for NFL2K and how to play games on it. Whenever I want to select a play on NFL2K, I do not have access to the buttons on the VMU and when I take it out, it turns off. I don't know how to turn the thing on when it is NOT in the controller. Please reply explaining how I do this.

Reply from Webmater:
I too didn't understand how the VMU worked at first, but you have to play around with the thing to get to know the VMU. Play with the buttons, and you'll find new things. When I rented NFL 2K to review it, I didn't have VMU. So I don't know how the VMU makes the plays with NFL 2K. If you want to play games on it, you'll have to download it first. To download games, you'll have to go on the net through the Dreamcast, or copy the game from a friend by connecting it. After downloading or copying the game, use the mode button and go to the middle mode. From there, you can play a game. To turn it on and off, press the sleep button.
